Doris Ndele is a resident of Mbooni village in Kilome sub-county, Makueni County. She is a parent, with her children attending Mukaa Primary School which is a few kilometres from her home and farm. She has lived there with her husband and 3 children (2 boys and 1 girl) for 19 years where they run a small scale mixed farm on their 2-acre piece of land.

Doris received a loan of 40,000 shillings from sQuid in July 2019 that she used to buy a chaff cutter for 32,000 shillings, and she used the remaining 8,000 shillings to buy animal feeds and supplements. This machine has made her dairy business more efficient, reducing post-harvest loss of napier grass.

The quality of feeds she now gives her cow has improved milk production from 10 litres per day to 18 litres per day. This translates to an increase of daily income from 600 shillings to 1,080 shillings, as she sells one litre at 60 shillings.

From the additional income, she repays her sQuid loan and makes her weekly contribution to her education e-wallet account. She intends to use the education e-wallet contributions to help pay for her daughter to transition to secondary school once she completes her primary education.

Doris has put into practice the financial literacy training that she received from sQuid; she now keeps accurate records of her accounts, and is a true supporter of education in her community.
